QST Announces Lightweight Holodeck ICVFX Tile

QST LED (www.qstled.com), manufacturer of the HoloDeck™ LED tile for ICVFX Virtual Production, will show its latest technology at the NAB Show 2024 (Las Vegas Convention Centre, 14–17 April), on stand C-7548 with partners VICON and HCG Technologies.
The Holodeck 1.9mm LED tile, first released in 2023, was the first sub-2mm LED tile designed specifically for ICVFX virtual production. Its technical specification and architecture are both unique and extreme compared to direct view event tiles. However, this approach results in the Holodeck delivering the very best ICVFX performance when viewed through a camera.
The Holodeck uses ultra-black common-cathode Flip Chip LEDs, and drives these at a market leading 15,360Hz refresh rate, double the rate of all other LED tiles. Combined with its PantaBlackÔ masking, it delivers an industry-leading contrast ratio, and the highest colour gamut coverage of any sub-2mm tile at 99.7% of DCI P3 colour space.
Currently available in 1.5mm, 1.9mm, and 2.3mm pixel pitches, QST is launching a lightweight version of the Holodeck 1.5mm and 1.9mm tiles. These tiles are targeted at LED volumes requiring ‘flown’ or hung LED walls, or for LED studios that need rapid re-configuration for different shots or different productions.
