Sponsors the Broadcast Technology Theatre

Pixel Power, a Rohde & Schwarz company, will showcase nearly 40-years of expertise and dedication to the media industry during MPTS at London’s Olympia on the 14th and 15th May 2025. The company is already known as a specialist in graphics, automation and workflow thanks to its Gallium and StreamMaster media processing and workflow orchestration platforms. However, MPTS will also see the UK debut of the latest version of PRISMON – a highly scalable, deploy-anywhere solution for multiviewing and monitoring audio, video and ancillary data content.

PRISMON has been designed to support both legacy and the latest media formats and transport standards, from traditional SDI to modern IP-based broadcast and OTT/streaming environments. In addition, the platform’s software-defined architecture means it can be seamlessly updated as technology evolves, removing the need to purchase any additional hardware. PRISMON operates purely on COTS (consumer off-the-shelf) hardware and the Linux operating system for maximum flexibility.

Pixel Power is now the only sales and support destination for PRISMON. With unlimited scalability, it encourages efficient resource sharing via a lossless, low-latency proxy video network. Designed to be operator and workflow-centric, the UI is highly configurable and enables efficient layout creation, management and deployment. Comprehensive monitoring capabilities provide probing and alerting at transmission, protocol and content levels, while advanced video quality measurement tools help maintain the highest quality of experience. Built-in cybersecurity features offer robust protection against external threats and modern APIs support integration with leading broadcast control, automation and orchestration systems.

StreamMaster is a powerful video processing engine that manages the processing, branding, master control and delivery of content to customers. In complement, Gallium serves as the workflow orchestration layer, streamlining operations from channel management to the versioning of trailers and promos. By automating routine tasks, Gallium helps maintain high production quality with minimal operator input, enabling teams to focus on creative work while reducing operational costs.

“We’re giving MPTS visitors the opportunity to see our innovative and collaborative platforms firsthand, and we’re also proud to be sponsoring and participating in a session entitled ‘How and Why to Launch a FAST Channel’ on the first day,” explains James Gilbert, Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing at Pixel Power. “There are many good reasons for creating FAST channels but many important commercial and technical considerations to navigate too.”

Karl Mehring, Head of Customer Success at Pixel Power agrees. “The panel will examine the common goals shared by broadcasters, new streaming services and FAST channels, as well as discussing how to build audiences through strong branding, how to deliver quality channels with precision and flexibility, and the best ways of leveraging technology to simplify workflows and improve operational efficiency. I’m pleased to be a part of the debate around new media models, and our four decades of experience in linear playout gives us a unique perspective on the right choices to make.”
